Husbands don't get it
As I was cleaning our room the other day, and trying my best to organize it where all my beauty collection will be perfectly hidden out of his sight, I got the questions no girl wants to hear. “Why so many of this or that?” “Can we just throw it all away?” My answer? “Like, noooooo! The answer is NO, NO, NO!”
So here I go again…. Explaining why I have 10 pair of shoes (or more) and 2 dozens nail polish. Not to mention how much makeup I have stored in… well, everywhere! Bottom line? We’re girls and that’s what we do, or at least most of us anyway.
I recognize that I have a lot of these things and I have tried my best to hide them where he doesn’t see them all the time and where people don’t question if it is just MY room and not OURS. But I fail, because sometimes you just need them handy. You know? Nothing worse than opening a drawer and 3 boxes to get something for your nails while you’re painting them (because yes, you didn’t think about it before).
But that’s just the nails though.
When it comes to shoes… oh God help me! You see, I can’t go everywhere with sneakers, or go running with sandals, or go to work in “chanclas” (flip flops). It just doesn’t work for me. So I need shoes to match what I’m wearing, not just in color but in style and comfort.
Hair stuff and products: “Why so many bottles of shampoos?” First, there’s also conditioner and deep conditioning, so get it straight before asking this. Also, some are for my curls, some are for hydration and some are for when I color my hair (there’s for red and for blonde). Not to mention the dandruff shampoo (and don’t act so surprised we all use them, even if just for the “clean/fresh” feeling on your scalp; yes guys, we know you use them too). These aren’t too cheap either so I am not throwing them away just to keep them out of sight and then have to buy them again when I change my hair color yet again. (But let’s not go there, okay?)
When it comes to other products and hair accessories, the answer is pretty simple… Women look better if their hair looks good. I’m guilty of not always fixing my hair but I should get points for at least trying, when I do.
Now, guys, if we get ready and you like how we look then please don’t question how much stuff we have. We’ve used them and you like it. If we threw away all of that, you would probably be looking at our brother (or father) every morning, so don’t complain!
Girls, what other questions about your beauty collection does your husband (or boyfriend) ask you that really annoys you?
Guys, you can also comment with any concerns, we’ll do our best to be polite when replying. ;)
